Dahlia Dinnerplate ‘Shiloh Noelle’ is a breathtaking dinnerplate dahlia renowned for its enormous, fully double blooms and soft, romantic coloration. Each flower opens to reveal layers of broad, gently curved petals arranged in a perfectly symmetrical, rounded form. The color palette is a delicate blend of creamy blush, soft peach, and subtle apricot tones, often with hints of champagne at the petal edges, giving the blooms an ethereal, luminous quality. Flowers can reach 8–12 inches across, creating a dramatic yet elegant presence in the garden or as a cut flower. The long, sturdy stems support the generous blooms, making this variety highly prized for floral arrangements, wedding bouquets, and display gardens.

The plants are vigorous and upright with rich, dark green foliage that provides a striking contrast to the soft pastel blooms. ‘Shiloh Noelle’ produces a succession of large, long-lasting flowers from midsummer until the first frost, making it a reliable and show-stopping addition to any garden. Its combination of size, delicate coloration, and refined form ensures it stands out both in borders and in mixed plantings.

Planting Directions

  • When to Plant: Plant tubers in spring after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.

  • Sun Exposure: Select a sunny location with at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight per day.

  • Soil: Use fertile, well-drained soil. Improve heavy or poor soils with compost or organic matter to enhance drainage and nutrition.

  • Planting Depth: Dig a hole 4–6 inches deep. Place the tuber horizontally with the eye or growing point facing upward.

  • Spacing: Space plants 24–36 inches apart to accommodate their large mature size and allow good air circulation.

  • Watering: Water lightly after planting. Once shoots appear, water deeply and consistently, allowing the topsoil to dry slightly between waterings.

  • Staking: Install strong stakes or supports at planting time to prevent wind damage and support heavy blooms.

  • Pinching: When plants reach 12–16 inches tall, pinch back the main growing tip to encourage branching and more flowers.

  • Fertilizing: Apply a low-nitrogen fertilizer during the growing season to encourage flowering rather than excessive leafy growth.

  • Bloom Period: Flowers appear from midsummer until the first frost.

  • Overwintering: In cold climates, dig tubers after frost blackens the foliage. Allow them to dry, then store in a cool, dry, frost-free place until spring.
