Dahlia Decorative ‘Rosella’ unfurls like a perfectly composed bloom of living artistry—its fully double flower packed with layers of broad, velvety petals that spiral outward in a soft, symmetrical rosette. Each bloom feels both lush and precise, balancing romantic fullness with refined structure, as though it were hand-crafted from satin. In the garden, it stands as a radiant focal point, offering generous, long-lasting blossoms that bring a sense of elegance and abundance from midsummer into fall. ‘Rosetta’ is the kind of dahlia that doesn’t just bloom—it performs, turning every stem into a graceful, show-stealing flourish.

Planting Directions

  • When to Plant: Plant tubers in spring after all danger of frost has passed and the soil has warmed.

  • Sun Exposure: Select a site with full sun, receiving at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight daily.

  • Soil: Use fertile, well-drained soil. Enrich heavy or poor soils with compost or organic matter to improve drainage and fertility.

  • Planting Depth: Dig a hole 4–6 inches deep. Place the tuber horizontally with the eye or growing point facing upward.

  • Spacing: Space plants 24–36 inches apart to accommodate the large mature size and ensure good airflow.

  • Watering: Water lightly after planting. Once shoots appear, water deeply and regularly, allowing the soil surface to dry slightly between waterings.

  • Staking: Strong stakes or supports are essential at planting time to support the weight of the large blooms and prevent wind damage.

  • Pinching: When plants reach 12–16 inches tall, pinch the main growing tip to encourage branching and increased flower production.

  • Fertilizing: Apply a low-nitrogen fertilizer during the growing season to promote flower development rather than excessive foliage.

  • Bloom Period: Flowers appear from midsummer and continue until the first frost.

  • Overwintering: In colder regions, dig tubers after frost blackens the foliage, allow them to dry, and store in a cool, dry, frost-free location until spring.
